At Embrace Counselling Services, every offering is designed to nurture emotional wellbeing, connection, and personal growth in a supportive, nature-based environment.
Whether through traditional counselling in a calm room setting or alongside our therapy horses out in the paddock in an Equine Assisted Counselling Session, each experience encourages self-awareness, mindfulness, and resilience.
We also offer some non therapy sessions and programs, these sessions can be therapeutic in nature and can be tailored to support your goals.
From discovering confidence in Barn Time, to finding peace in Brush & Breathe or reconnecting with nature with a Picnic @ the Paddock, our services invite clients to slow down and embrace their own journey toward healing and balance — one gentle step at a time.
All sessions are delivered by a qualified Counsellor and certified Equine Assisted Mental Health Practitioner.

Brush and Breathe with Horses
These 30, 60 or 90 minute session are designed for clients who wish to connect with our equine partners in a peaceful and calming environment. During this time, participants have the opportunity to meet and interact with the horses and other animals, focusing not only on brushing and grooming but also on the profound therapeutic benefits of spending time with these sentient beings.
The session is centered around nervous system regulation, helping participants calm their minds and bodies through mindful interaction with the horses. Research has shown that being in the presence of horses can have a soothing effect on the nervous system, reducing stress and anxiety while promoting relaxation and emotional well-being. By gently brushing the horses and being in their company, participants can tap into the grounding energy the horses offer, creating a serene and nurturing space for regulation.
The experience encourages mindfulness and presence, guiding participants to connect with their bodies, while engaging in a non-verbal interaction with the horses.
The simple, yet powerful act of grooming not only fosters a sense of calm but also enhances trust, emotional and body awareness. As the horses respond to touch, participants learn to tune into their own sensations and emotions, allowing for moments of clarity and relaxation.
This session offers a quiet, peaceful retreat where participants can leave behind the distractions of daily life and reconnect with themselves in the supportive presence of the horses.

Picnic at the Paddock
An invitation to pause, breathe, and connect with nature.
Picnic at the Paddock offers a peaceful, grounding experience where you can slow down and simply be. Bring along your picnic basket and blanket or make use of our picnic table and enjoy morning tea or lunch under the shade of a tree.
Spending time in nature has proven benefits for both mind and body. The gentle sounds, sights, and scents of the paddock help support relaxation, lower stress, and enhance overall well-being. The fresh air and open space allows your nervous system a chance to recalibrate.
The horses, as sentient and intuitive beings, add a deeper sense of connection and calm. Their non-judgmental presence often brings a feeling of emotional safety and quiet joy. Simply observing them can bring about a sense of peace.
